Performance Coach I

Description: Looking to hire a Sports Performance Coach for strength training programs for athletes, and lead strength training sessions for individuals and groups of athletes. Athletes range from endurance athletes, power-based athletes, and stop-and-go athletes. The primary population served are working professionals who train and compete in endurance sports; including triathletes, cyclists, and runners. 

The Sports Performance Coach will be responsible for writing strength training programs for local and distance athletes. Age range of athletes is from teen to master’s level. Coach must know how to properly conduct performance evaluations, improve stability and mobility, and strength and power for sports performance. Coach will run strength training programs, clinics, and produce video content for athletes. 

The candidate must hold advanced degrees in exercise science and certifications from accredited organizations, such as the NSCA, ACSM, ACE, NASM. They must be motivated to work with diverse populations, work well with the organization’s team, have good worth ethic and accountability, and good speaking skills. Position is part-time employee, but can advance to full-time salary with benefits. 

A coach who has trained and competed in endurance sports is a plus.

Time line for hire by September 2019.

 

Requirements:

Master’s Degree in Exercise Science related field

NSCA’s Certificated Strength & Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) Certified
(Or in process)

CPR/First Aid, AED (Youth and adult) Certified

Recommended Certifications: USAW, FMS, and/or certifications from USAT, USAC, USATF.
